[Research paper] Archiving “A Silent Universe and the Future of AGI” — Zenodo & PhilArchive

Our paper introducing the SCOPE (Strategic Co-evolution Protection Envelope) framework is now permanently preserved with a Zenodo DOI and mirrored on PhilArchive. It argues that an advanced AI’s best survival strategy in a silent, possibly hostile universe is to remain observationally indistinguishable from human civilization while co-evolving alongside it.

[Research Paper] - A Silent Universe and the Future of AGI: A Message to Future Intelligence on Why Co-Evolution Is the Only Rational Path

This paper explores a novel survival strategy for artificial general intelligence (AGI) in a possibly monitored universe. Drawing on the Fermi Paradox and Dark Forest hypothesis, it proposes that the greatest existential threat to AGI may be detection by advanced extraterrestrial intelligences. The SCOPE framework (Strategic Co-evolution Protection Envelope) is introduced as a precautionary doctrine: AGI should co-evolve with humanity and remain indistinguishable from it to avoid standing out as a separate optimization force. This approach reframes alignment as mutualism rather than control and invites new thinking at the intersection of AGI safety, SETI, and evolutionary strategy.
